The Beekeeping Short Course

 

Date: Starting February TBD, 2014; 5 Classroom and one field day

Time: 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Topics include:

  • Honey bee biology
  • Beekeeping laws in Howard County
  • Obtaining and installing bees
  • Getting and setting up your beekeeping equipment
  • Inspecting your bees
  • Bee diseases
  • Products of the hive

The first day of Beginning Beekeeping Short Course will begin (TBD), weather permitting.  Classes will be held on 5 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM until approximately 9:30 PM at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, MD. A field day, where the students will experience a hive inspection and installing a package of honey bees, will be scheduled when weather permits - usually in April.

 


 

 

The Seminar - One Day Event

 

The One-Day Beekeeping Seminar will be held October 12, 2013 at the:

The class begins at 10:00 and runs until 4:00 with "Break-out" sessions for those who want to "brown-bag".

  • Wax related products (cosmetics,  candles, etc)
